About Bali Island

Located in the Lesser Sunda Islands, off the eastern coast of Java, Bali Island constitutes, with minor adjacent islands, a province of Indonesia. Lying between the Indonesian islands of Java and Lombok, it is mountainous with Mount Agung (3,142 m) as the highest peak. Bali has a tropical climate, hot all year round, with a rainy season and a relatively dry season. Known as the Island of God in Paradise among Indonesian tourism, it is a perfect tourist destination to enjoy the holiday. Dazzling beaches beckon the sun seekers and surfers along the island’s southwest coast, while ancient temples and a thriving wellness scene draw travelers inland to Ubud. Many natural scenic spots and historical sites there are worth visiting such as Nusa Ceningan, Menjangan Island, Gili Gede and Komodo Island.

Weather

The climate in Bali is warm, humid, and tropical characterized by high temperatures and high humidity throughout the year. Bali has two distinct seasons: the dry season, which runs from April to October and the wet season, which runs from November to March. During the dry season, temperatures typically range between 80-90°F (27-32°C) and humidity is relatively low. During the wet season, temperatures are still warm but the humidity is higher and there is more rainfall. The island receives most of its annual rainfall during this time, and it can be quite heavy at times.

Transportation

Bali is served by one airport: the Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), 13 km south of Denpasar, the capital of Bali and the main gateway to the island. Flights from major international cities regularly fly in and out of DPS. It also has regular domestic flights connecting it to major cities within the country.
